Heel spurs and heel bone spurs cause heel pain
Foot pain from heel spurs explained
A heel spur is a hook of bone that forms on the heel bone. Heel spurs are common in people who have suffered from plantar fasciitis. The heel spur itself isn’t what causes the heel pain. Rather it’s the inflammation around it that causes the heel pain.
Causes of heel spurs
Heel spurs, heel bone spurs and heel pain can be caused by being overweight, poor or lack of arch support, spending a lot of time on your feet, dramatically increased physical activity, or, as noted above, by plantar fasciitis.
Foot pain relief from heel spurs
The best shoes for heel spurs are those with good arch support, and a thick heel for cushioning. Insoles can also help.
